Job Summary

Key responsibilities

  • Pro-actively and enthusiastically develop new business through telephone calls and other media/ networking tools.
  • Identify and develop relationships with potential new clients by undertaking appropriate research
  • Gain a sound understanding of the event core subject matter and provide insight and market feedback to the wider event team; research current and upcoming industry events
  • Follow up on marketing efforts to convert prospects into attendees
  • Attendance at relevant exhibitions/conferences with international travel as required
  • On-site duties at the event(s) as required
  • Ensure the team are effectively utilising the CRM to capture accurate data and managing team reports on the CRM
  • Understanding the performance and what the potential performance will be through individual revenue forecasting
  • Influencing the strategic direction of the event campaign with your market experience, knowledge and business acumen
  • Motivating and leading a positive and professional team culture

Job Description

Our client is a dynamic, independent media company providing informative insights to the industries they serve across their print, digital and live event platforms.

They are currently looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to work within their transport division. The ideal candidate will utilise their drive for personal revenue generation to develop new business opportunities whilst also maintaining and developing existing revenues and relationships.

UK and International travel to visit clients and to attend external industry events is required.

Key responsibilities:
Consultative selling on the telephone and in face-to-face meetings
Creating new business opportunities and strategic partnerships
Attend industry-related conferences and events
Work closely with the marketing team to assist with marketing strategies
Build a network of contacts
Keep up to date with industry news, trends and developments
Meeting KPIs and targets

Required Skills

Qualifications and experience

Key skills and experience:
3 years + proven track record in sponsorship sales with B2B media and events
Ability to create engaging and effective sales pitches
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent administration, interpersonal and organisational skills
A self-motivated team player

Due to the nature of the location, applicants will require their own vehicle to travel to work.
